Life of an orange 2
This is the second life of an orange. It took about three hundred pictures to make this! It is about a weird orange on opposite day who gets into mischief. We made this by taking a lot of pictures and putting them together to create a video ( otherwise know as stop frame animation) Thanks for watching and enjoy!

The Time Spirit that lurked in the Woods - Video by Jack, Greg and Tess
This is a video that Jack B, Greg and I (Tess) have been working on. It is a fantasy/ Horror about a Time Spirit (a spirit that dies if time is too complex around it.) that needs a body to stay alive. It chases an innocent young futurgram (a type of immortal that dreams about the future) called Tessa. They go all around the woods in two different time periods.
There are two extras in the movie, they are Jack N and Rosie.
It was created on an iPad using the 8mm vintage camera app, Splice and iMovie.

Olivia's 100 Word Challenge Week 34
One morning, I woke up and smelled the sickly smell of blood in the air. "Argh!" I screamed as I entered my Mum's bedroom. There she was lying on the floor, clear as day, dead. My mind ran astray as I thought about how this could have happened. Suddenly I heard the front door slam shut! It wasn't Dad because he was in London and it couldn't have been my brother because he was at University.
I crept along the landing and there I saw a train of blood leading downstairs and to the front door. Suddenly I saw it, the nanny wasn't in her bedroom. Infact she wasn't in the house at all. Maybe it was her! I grabbed the phone and dialled 999 but for some reason there was no answer. What could I do?

Michael's 100 Word Challenge Week 34
One casual day I was walking down the street and suddenly I saw a man mugging a frail old lady! I couldn't help but go over to the phone box and call the police, SWAT team, Someone! When they picked up the phone I shouted down to the officer. Quick help someone's being mugged! The police woman kept calm about the situation. I was so angry about that. Suddenly I ran towards him. He started to run away. I chased and chased but he was to fast for me. I got in my car and saw him pull out a gun. BANG! Goodbye.
Jack N's 100 Word Challenge Week 34
I walked into a cave and suddenly I saw it. The legendary pencil. It did absolutely nothing compared to a normal pencil. That's why it's called the Legendary Pencil. The only difference is that the legendary pencil is made of solid gold.I would have to be careful because there were skeletons everywhere and that could mean traps. I mean death traps. Traps that lead to death. I saw a trip wire. I would have to pull it out to find out what would happen. It wobbled, and a lava pit opened up through the floor. I avoided it, grabbed the pencil, but fell into lava.
Joe's 100 Word Challenge Week 34
I was walking home one day, when I fell over and landed in a dark alley. The coldness made me shiver as I began to stand up. The stench of garbage lingered in the air. My nose crincled up as the smell was unbearable. I stumbled towards the exit but suddenly I saw a shadow cover my escape from this dingy, lifeless place.
He pulled out something shiny. He crept closer, never lowering his weapon. It felt like we came face to face he was that close but then he lunged forward and sank the knife into my heart. Only one question remained in my head. Why?

The year 6 leavers hoodies!
Our class and the Chestnut ( click here ) year sixes are leaving primary school in six weeks. So, to celebrate, we have all got a purple, red, or white leavers hoodie, with all of our names on the back. The names are shaped neatly in a 12 to emphasise that the year sixes are leaving in the eventful year of 2012. As the year six hoodie-fashion is sweeping across the oldest children, we have taken a photo of them. All of our class (Maple) had to pose for a picture with our backs to the camera. (See pictures below.)
What do you think of our super-stylish hoodies?

The Olympic Torch Relay!!!
On Wednesday 30th May the Olympic Torch passed through Shrewsbury and all of our school, (Greenfields) went to watch it. The atmosphere was amazing with almost 40,000 people around the town. We waited for about an hour for this exciting moment. Before the torch came past, there were lots of police, Olympic Vehicles and a few other runners in front. There was a girl named Chloe who ran with the Torch after the coaches. This experience was a once in a life time chance for some of the pupils in Greenfields.
Many children have said they enjoyed this trip and would love to see it again, (especially when they were giving out free flags and coke). Our school was so close to being on TV but missed, anyway, we all enjoyed it and so did the teachers!

Her Majesty The Queen's Jubilee Video #1
We have been celebrating the Queen's Diamond Jubilee by writng RAPs. We decided to make a music video to go with them. To do this, we used GarageBand, iMovie and InfinFX on our new iPads. We learned how to use all three apps and improve our ICT skills by putting all three into the one video.

E-Safety - Remove the Navbar Tutorial By Jack
A few of the children in our class are beginning to create a blog of their own. We realise that the NavBar at the top of the blog is an E-safety problem as the 'Next Blog' button can lead you to nasty blogs. I decided to share my knowledge of removing it with the whole class. So enjoy my video!
Here is the code I mentioned in the video that you need to insert:

Jess's 100 Word Challenge Week 31
The trap door
As Tim and Moby walked towards the strange door, it opened
by it’s self. They thought about if they should go through the rusty, old door.
But as they walked round the fascinating door, they fell down into the darkness
of an under ground maze.
Luckily they
were we not hurt. Tim shouted at the top of his lungs, “where are we,
Have we
fallen into Oblivion!?” However the two adventures did not know that these
were the
grounds where the King, (over one-hundred years ago) hid from his enemies.
They explored
the caves one-hundred times. But would they survive in the caves?...

Alex's 100 Word Challenge Week 31
The fountain
Wow I can’t believe my eyes
we found what everyone has been looking for. The fountain of youth! It was
beautiful, the sun made the wet substance look like glittering diamonds. “Wow!”
I said speechless as I dived onto the soft bed of grass, and relaxed in the
sun.
Then I tested the water on a
monkey, and when I pulled him out he was gone. Then I noticed I only needed a
drop. “Moby NOOOOO!” I shouted…
Francesca's 100 Word Challenge Week 31
Hotel Monkey.
“At last Moby,” I said excitedly.
“We’ve found it!” It was the world’s first, top secret monkey hotel, a cool and
modern home for monkeys around the jungle. The hotel was massive, but only had
one floor, and the monkeys were treated like humans. “Look Moby,” I said
laughing, “The monkeys are having room service, and the bell boys are monkeys!”
Something
was wrong. There were bright lights streaming out of the windows of the hotel.
Monkeys came rushing out of the hotel, and ran up the hill to where me and Moby
were standing. BAM! Monkeys flew everywhere…
Luke's 100 Word Challenge Week 31
The Emerald statue
I can't believe it! I
am looking at the statue of emerald. I am living to tell the tale of this
magnificent shiny statue. Shimmering with light glowing gleaming in my eyes.
This antiquated statue has not been found for years. This statue holds a world
wide powerful crystal inside. This is shaped in a weird shape its like a
pyramid. As the bright blistering sun light shines on it, I want to get closer
but I don’t know if I should, oh well, nothing can happen there wont be a bomb
on it or something. I take one step….
Tessa's 100 Word Challenge Week 31
Tears of Gold.
“We’ve finally found it Moby!” I squealed. After months of
searching, we had finally found the mask of Anubis. It glowed a tremendous gold,
in the orchard green forest. It was from ancient Egypt . It was said that at a
funeral of a Pharaoh it (when worn) would weep tears of gold, and I had
found it! But now I had an excruciating choice. Keep it for myself –and tears
of gold-, or sell it for millions? Well before I made that decision I would have
to make it home. Uh-oh I’d forgotten the way! Would we die out here?...
Rosie's 100 Word Challenge Week 31
The beach of wonder
It was the most amazing thing I had ever seen. Billions of tiny jewels glimmered in the bright sunlight, acting like sand on this incredible beach. The gentle waves, as blue as the sky, weren't like normal seawater, they were sugar-water with the medical properties to cure every disease. I pulled out a small pouch and a flask from my rucksack and started to scoop up the jewels and sugar-water. But then I remembered. Legend has it that whoever steals from this wondrous site will be cursed for the rest of their lives! What had I done?

Rhiannon's 100 Word Challenge - Week 30
Now what do I need to make a human robot?
My evil plan shall work, and I....
“Jake, time for tea, munchkin,” shouted Mum from
downstairs. “Do I have to?” I screamed back. As I ran to the dinning table I
forgot to turn of my invention off. I rapidly ate my food, (vegetable pie) and
then leaped back up. AHHHHHHH…..
Where has it gone?
It can’t have gone far, until I realised the massive hole in
the wall. Suddenly, I heard screaming from down the road when I realised it
wasn’t screaming it was …laughing. It
was very, very strange……..
Olivia's 100 Word Challenge Week 30
Splash! I fell straight into the slushy mess. “It's good but
it still needs something,” I thought. “Now what do I need?” I thought my very
hardest until I came up with what I thought my gross, goo bath needed. “Ah ha,
I’ve got it,” I shouted “worms that’s perfect.” Hurriedly, I got out of the
disgusting bath and rushed into the garden with a trowel and began to dig for
my final ingredient. In the end, I found twenty four fat, filthy worms. I
chucked them into my revolting bath. “This will make me into a millionaire,” I
chuckled.

Aran's 100 Word Challenge Week 29
As I left the marvellous castle, I headed into the forbidden forest! In the forest it was a place where no light could escape. Everywhere was dark and neglected. Moreover, the place was bleak and I felt like something was following me. Something big! Suddenly the ground shook and it felt like the surface benif me was falling apart. Just then as scaley dragon flew right infront of me. The hudge beast opened it's jaw and let out a roar so noisily that my ear drums nearly burst! As I steadied myself, I picked up my sword and stabed the dragon through his brain. As I left the forest, a pink sun slowly stirred.
Joe's 100 Word Challenge. Week 29
Wow! I had overheard (eavesdropped) my parents speaking about going to a marvellous castle trip. I excitedly jumped around the room noisily. I couldn't wait. I put my ear against the door to see if I could hear any more good news - the door swung open. Busted! I had been caught. My excited outrage had attracted some attention. As I looked up, I saw a pair of angry, suspicious and frustrated looking parents, I was in deep trouble. I was getting ready for them to chew me out but they just sent me to my sisters bright pink room. Out the window a bird flew by.

The Lemon
turtle
The lemon turtle is an endangered herbivore (it only eats
plants.) It will eat almost any plant! These animals live in lemon water, by
water reeds and Lily pads.
The lemon turtle has a bright florescence yellow shell, with
a cool black lemon. Its body is a murky brown, so it can blend in. The average
size of a lemon turtle is 35 centimetres, however the babies are only ten
centimetres.
This turtle is endangered due to habit loss, and hunters
hunting them for food and there amazing lemon shells. There shells are used for
cups and bowls!
But do these lemon turtles have a bright future?
Jay's 100 Word Challenge Week 28
The Night Zookeeper
A Griller wolf is a big creature about half the size as a
fully grown man. The Griller wolf has the body of a Griller, and the teeth and
claws of a wolf only twice as big. It’s
teeth are green and glowing. The fur is the blackest black with a lot of it
sticking up like it has been shocked. This a strange species from outer space.
It also has no eyes so it hunts by it’s sense of smell, (beware the creature is
highly venomous and one bite can kill you with in one hour our two hours).
Liam's 100 Word Challenge Week 28
The tiger.
A tiger is a species of cat! It is a large animal that hunts
many different things like 10-14 year old girls. This extraordinary creature has
claws bigger than car tyres. This cat is camouflaged in red and blue squares.
This animal can be nice (if you’re nice back). The tiger can live almost
anywhere form the middle of the equator to the north of the north of the North
pole. The hunting method is quite simple: chase the prey till its energy runs
out, then rip it apart and that will be the end of its life! What a creature.

Rosie's 100 Word Challenge Week 27
Cautiously, I crept into the dark cave. My eyes scanned across. Nothing. I stepped forward. I was wrong. Beneath my feet lay a night dragon, (Draco nitus) it’s scaly black tail paralyzed in sleep. This was a dragonologist’s dream! “Wow!” I whispered- but I shouldn’t have. I forgot that night dragons can pick up the slightest noise. The dragon slowly stirred. I pulled out a dead ferret to tame it. It came closer. Yes! I would be the first person to tame a night dragon. As the creature gnawed on it’s food, I prepared it for flight. Writing this, I’m flying, on the tamed dragon.
Chloe's 100 Word Challenge Week 27
Me and my friend (Elisha) took a step closer to stare at an incredible creature. We reached out our hands, slowly and quietly to stroke the beast without it awaking. Gently I stroked, as Elisha slapped, but the monster was still sleeping. Suddenly its one eye opened an inch. Our legs were shaking like jelly. Scared, we took a step back as the dragon’s eye closed. When we stepped closer, we found chains leading to its neck “maybe its fed up ? ” Elisha asked, I had a think. We looked around; nothing nice nearby “maybe it is” I replied. “run!” I screamed as the dragon slowly stirred …
Tessa's 100 Word Challenge Week 27
The dragon slowly stirred the evil potion. I would have done something but I was tied up (long story) ! I would have said something as well but my mouth was taped shut -good choice- ! Struggling, I tried to free myself, no success. Finally I ripped my tape off.
"You'll never get away with this" I screamed. Wrong move. He roared so loud, that it almost deafened me. Fortunately for him, that shut me up.
Suddenly my rope ripped. I freed myself and he roared with defeat. I sprinkled fairy dust (even longer story) in the potion and ran away. The last thing I remember...

Buisness was suffering for Graham. Only fifty four people visited his zoo on Saturday. "This is the only zoo in the country with a dragon in!" he cried, banging his head on the table. Miserably he looked on the internet for ideas. Then he had it! Scaly-beast Slush Puppies! Everyone loves these refreshing ice-cream drinks. He bought a machine. And trained his dragon to stir them. The dragon slowly stirred. Unfortunately the mythical creature dribbled in the mixing bowl....
The next day, Graham proudly re-opened the zoo. The slush-puppies were an instant hit. But when the visitors drank them, they all collapsed....and died....

I was so excited! It was the Easter holidays and I was going away to Lanzarote.
I love Easter…all those lovely chocolate eggs. I couldn’t take my eggs with me because it was going to be too hot, so I would have to wait until I got home to eat them.
When I arrived at the hotel I put my hand in my pocket and discovered a chocolate rabbit. I forgot I’d put it there when my friend gave it me on the last day of term. I put it on the side and went out. When I came back the chocolate rabbit melted in the sun!

Do YOU want to be a Greenfields Digital Leader?
This term we'll be setting up our team of Digital Leaders - they'll be a small team of Year Five and Six children who will be responsible for:
- testing out new tech in school;
- helping to train other children and adults (are you confident and patient?!)
- helping to decide what tech we should have in school;
- posting your discoveries and expertise onto the Greenfields Digital Leaders' Blog;
- and also contributing to the Digital Leader Network Blog.
To apply to become a Digital Leader, you will need to go to the Greenfields Digital Leaders' Blog and find the link to the on-line application form.
Once you've completed the form, you will also need to create something using ICT which demonstrates why you would be a good Digital Leader - it could be a video, presentation, animation, blog - anything! You will need to email this to Mr Kenyon at ash.greenfields@gmail.com or greenfields.dls@gmail.com
When the applications are in, we'll choose a shortlist of candidates to interview (don't worry - not a scary interview!).
The deadline for applications is Friday 27th April - good luck!

Elisha's 100 Word Challenge Week 26
Dear diary,
One of the worst days of my life...
And it all began like this
It was the day Miss Harris revealed the final class project i would ever complete at primary school. We had to make a sculpture of something we loved. I was desprate to impress. I lay awake all night thinking about what I could do. Suddenly it came to me, my two favourite things were chocolate and my pet bunny called Coco. So the next day I sat by the side of my bunny and started to get to work. after five hours, i had finally completed my work of art. I was so proud of myself, it looked amazing. I put in the fridge overnight to set. I was so excited about presenting my final peice of art work to the class. 'Ta da' I exclaimed lifting the lid off the box. "Oh no, the chocolate bunny has melted in the sun!" I cried holding up a blob of chocolate!

Greg's 100 Word Challenge
Why is it so hot!?
Gleefully, I stepped out into the staggering heat. It
dried my throat. But I wasn’t going to let that ruin
my day! Good Friday! Hot cross buns and chocolate
galore! I placed my chocolate rabbit (people say I’m
too old for them) and my glass of squash on the table
and nipped to the loo. When I returned my glass was
steaming and the chocolate rabbit melted in the sun.
The heat was unbearable! My body couldn’t take it
because my skin turned red raw and my face crisped
and then to top off the pain... I fainted. And they say
Good Friday is good, it’s awful.

Rosie's 100 Word Challenge Week 26
“YAAAAAAAAYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!
It’s Easter!“ I screamed as I ran down the stairs. I pulled on my clothes and
grabbed my basket for the egg hunt. When we arrived, I could see that almost
every child in the area had turned up. ”GO!” At the sound of that word, a stampede
of children came past me. I started to explore, looking in every possible
hiding place I could see. After finding two measly mini eggs, I noticed
something in the bush. An oversized bunny hopping around with a coat that looked like it was made from chocolate.
I inched closer and suddenly, the chocolate rabbit melted in the sun.

Olivia's 100 Word Challenge Week 26
The chocolate bunny melted in the sun
Ah, finished. My first chocolate bunny. I worked for lint chocolate and I had just finished the world’s first chocolate rabbit, but things were about to go horribly wrong.
I wanted to show my boss my new creation but I couldn't find him anywhere so I put the delicious milk sculpture on a table right beneath the sun. I ran to the lift, ugh it was occupied. Stairs it was then. I ran to the fourth floor and knocked on my boss’s door. “Come in,” said James.
“I’ve got a new creation; I have made a chocolate bunny, smooth and creamy,” I said arrogantly. I ran down to the bottom floor and ran to the place where I had left the bunny. All that was left was a pile of brown slush.

Sasha's 100 Word Challenge Week 26
Ellie was very excited when Mrs May gave out the homework.
It was all about chocolate. Her heart sank when she realized she had to make a
chocolate statue of her pet. “OH NO!” she thought, “I have no pet”. Ellie asked
her mum what she should do. Her mum said, “Don’t worry make a statue of Bobby
the wild rabbit who visits the garden”. Ellie cheered up and set to work. The
chocolate statue of Bobby looked fantastic. She was sure to win!
Judging day arrived.
Mrs May enquired as to where Ellie’s homework was. She replied “The chocolate
rabbit melted in the sun.”

Jack B's 100 Word Challenge Week 26
The sun shone through the tree. Easter wasn’t normally like this, 27 degrees C, so I had to make the most of this rare occasion. I sat at the side of the quiet road with a picnic blanket on the floor and lots of food. An anxious-looking man approached me. I wondered what he wanted.
“Excuse me, could you help me?” he said.
“I’ve lost my car keys and can’t get in!”
I left my Easter chocolate bunny on the path, took my hammer and smashed the window.
“Thanks!” he said gleefully. I returned to my picnic. Disaster had struck…
…the chocolate rabbit melted in the sun…

Attention! Calling all adults!
We would all really like to know what school was like for our parents. Was it similar to our experiences today? Did you have interactive whiteboards? How was it the same? How was it different? Do you have any funny tales to tell? PLEASE leave us a comment to tell us.

Alex's 100 Word Challenge Week 25
Mind Control
It all
started when I met him in the alley, his evil surged through my body. I don’t
remember anything before, or after I just wake to ‘man found dead with 9700
stab wounds’ or ‘dead family found with many bullet holes to the head’. I
realised it was me when I met him once more in an alley and he said, “you’re a
murderer!” and when my dreams of killing are on the news!
That
Friday after school I decided to go to the shop when I walked in shopkeeper Jim said “how can I
help you?” then my vision went blurry, I saw a shape in my hand it
looked like a pistol I heard a bang and woke up in prison…
Mitch's 100 Word Challenge Week 25
How can I
help you?
The
supermarket robots asked, “how can I help you?” all the time echoing throughout the bombed
supermarket. It all started in 2013, the atomic war. Everything started
mutating I was the only survivor. I have been living in this shop for twenty
years my only source of food: the heart of the robots. My only company - cockroaches. I survived. I
am the only human life source on Earth. This is my diary in case anyone finds
this. Fred, born 18 November 1999 died today two thousand and thirteen. Whats
the point of living? I pick up a gun… Death greets me.
Greg's 100 Word Challenge Week 25
I’m watching you…
The stranger asked, “how can I help you?”
“How did I get here?” I thought. I was standing in a small library,
oblivious to how I got there. The only librarian had one eye, a stained white
top and dull grey hair. Despite that, I didn’t want to be there, I had a browse
to be polite. The first book I saw was titled, ‘I’m watching you…’ it had a
realistic grey eyeball in it. I glanced at the librarian, he had one grey eye.
There was an awful feeling about this place… I forgot how I arrived there and
there was a real eye in a book!!!

Spiders
Ding Dong! went the
sound of my door bell. I glanced
out the window to see if it was it was my two best friends in the school Luke
and Kyle . I went to the door, opened it and Kyle said “are you playing out?”
I replied “yes be there in a minute gotta put my trainers on.”
I dashed towards the shoe cupboard and carefully pulled out
my lovely Nike trainers not knowing there was a white spider pushed up agents
the wall. I was petrified. Then ever so close there was a little hole where
about fifty spiders were crawling out of.
Francesca's 100 word challenge Week 24
The White Spiders.
Have
you ever seen a spider that is so white it is almost invisible? Well I have, in
fact I haven’t just seen one or two, I’ve seen FIFTY little white spiders that
crawl so fast they look like a miniature white blurs, zooming round the floor.
This is the story how… On Monday, last week, I was walking to school when I saw
two little white blurs racing past my feet at top speed. How peculiar! Then,
all of a sudden, forty-eight small blurs started climbing up my leg. Carefully
I pushed them off my leg but one bit me. OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our last activity....
Well it's finally coming to an end. We are on our last activity and can't believe where the time has gone. We are all tired (and dirty) but have had a fantastic week.
To sum up our trip to Manor we would say it has been amazing especially climbing up in the trees. (Sasha & Sophie)
Mrs Prior says we have been really well behaved and a credit to our parents and the school.
We will see you when we get back...

Day Four - Manor Adventure
We have made it to day four already! We have done lots of fun activities. one of the best ones was.....all of them!!
The abseiling we are doing right now! The wall is really high, look!....
We bet you parents can't wait to have us home! Wait until you open our bags.
Yesterday we all went canoeing and kayaking, some of us went for a swim! Some of us went in four times! We couldn't stop laughing.
The underground maze was epic! We lost Greg (found him now fortunately).
Our trip is coming to an end which is sad but we look forward to coming home.

Hello everyone back home! We are now blogging by phone which is good as we can do it as we go along. Thank you for all your comments, we are making sure the children get them. Everyone is being really good. All asleep each night by 10:30! The activities are really tiring them out! They are all happy and are participating in everything. Some muddy children will be arriving home tomorrow - be prepared!

Some Manor pics at last!!!
Hello! We've finally managed to get some pictures on-line! We'll try to get more on as soon as we can! :-)
Manor Adventure - Day Two
Hello everyone!
We have finally managed to find the Internet!! We have been very busy having a lot of fun already. Read below what some of our children have to say:
Luke - At first we woke up, had breakfast and then we headed straight out to do orienteering (map reading). After that, we went to do archery, this was very enjoyable but no one hit the bulls eye. Lunch was a choice of hot dogs, cornish pasty, chicken satay, jacket potato, pasta and salad. Lunch was better than last night's meal. Later, we are off to the disco. We are having a great time.
Greg - At first I was terrified of the confidence course - this frame around trees which looks completely terrifying (to people like me!) Once you got going, it was fantastic and I think future Manor visitors should give everything they can a go! Missing everybody at home, but having a great time!
Mitchell H - Yesterday when we arrived at Manor we practised the fire alarm and had five minutes to unpack and then we were straight off to our first activity. It was the survival course, it was brilliant! We looked at different shelters, we even made our own and visualised a survival situation. We then built a fire using a flint and steel. The first day was amazing! We have had a busy day today, which has been fantastic!
Just a couple of snippets of what the children think of our week so far. We are now using a fairly archaic computer as we cannot connect to wifi. Unfortunately, we cannot upload photos - it doesn't seem to like it!
Apologies for this, we know how everyone likes to see the children. They are however having a fantastic time. They are as muddy as you can imagine and beginning to look rather dishevelled. The main thing is, they are HAPPY!!
Keep commenting. We are reading them out to the children as we get them from our phones.

Jack N's 100 Word Challenge
Unfortunately, last night, the weather changed for the worst. Volcanoes erupted, rivers flooded and tornadoes whirled. It was chaos. Although I didn’t witness it, I knew what happened, and more importantly, how it happened. Last night, I left the tap running all night long. Then, as we live near the sea, it flooded into the sea, and straight to the rivers, and then it all flooded. I have absolutely no idea how the volcanoes fit in, but I do know the tornadoes part. Behind the garage is a voltage box. As my lamp wasn’t working, I turned it up a notch. But suddenly, lightning came out of the sky, and hit the voltage box. Then a storm came, and destroyed everything.
Rosie's 100 Word Challenge
This would’ve been the best day of my life. I was on my way to see my musical hero, Noodle. I’d dyed my hair purple (don’t worry, it was only temporary) and I’d readied my mouth to scream. Suddenly, the weather changed for the worst. Across the street, a whirling cloud was sucking up everything in it’s path and squeezing it into a pulp. A tornado. I dived into next door’s front garden. It was too late. The gravel on the floor started to float. It was gone. I knew that soon the same would happen to me. It did. I died that day.
Toby's 100 Word Challenge
"Ahh" I screamed, the tornado wouldn't stop. It had already devoured the town hall. People ran for their lives. My invention was nearly ready, but I didn't have much time as the tornado had already reached five houses away. My machine was simple, as soon as the tornado reached my next-door neighbours house, my machine would suck the tornado into itself. Silently, I crept towards my room were I kept the divise. I took it out and stood outside and waited. It was nearly hear, three, two, one, ZERO. It sucked the tornado into my machine. The weather had changed for the worse.

100 Word challenge Week 22
A photo is this week's prompt. Rather a strange one too! We had to think of a creative story which involves this ball of ...well what do YOU think it is?
Read our amazing pieces of work all done in just 100 words.
Don't forget to visit www.100wc.net and our Quadblog schools to comment on other people's writing this week too.
Olivia's 100 Word Challenge
On the 19th of January 2009, the biggest clay ball was created. Using any old bits of clay, Sarah Slade added more and more clay that was, when finished, eleven feet in height and twelve feet width wise.
It took Sarah just over a year to complete it. This young record breaker was inspired when she was given a packet of modelling clay for her twelfth birthday.
But one morning Sarah awoke to the sound of her burglar alarm. When she ran down stairs she got the shock of her life. Two young men where rolling the ball out of the door not knowing that her neighbour had already called the police.
Jess's 100 Word Challenge
I had no idea what it was or where it came from. All I knew, was it glowed. Not just any old glow, the type of glow that makes you go crazy. This ball had fungus and mushrooms growing all over it.
When I stepped closer, I could see that this ball had dead decomposing bodies. Before I could take another step, the police arrived, I ran away in to the darkness. I heard a screech. The ball had devoured the policeman; I dare not go near it again. I ran for my life and phoned my mum.
Mitch's 100 Word Challenge
Muhahahaha! The scientist screamed as his creation rose to life. I t was a giant ball of clay and its purpose was to decompose rubbish. As the scientist brought his creation to life, it suddenly got struck by lightning. The ball of clay rapidly turned green it was EVIL!
The ball destructively broke out of its glass case and tore a hole in the wall. The ball broke out on a violent rampage around the city knocking the Eiffel tower over and every landmark in the process! The gigantic ball gathered height, it would soon destroy the whole wide world!
Jack B's 100 Word Challenge
The local newsagent was daunting me with its one pound offers. I rushed into the cramped garage at the bottom of the garden to get my bike. At two hundred miles an hour, I was just a few metres from the shop. BANG!!!! The whole street fell and collapsed. I gasped. A gigantic ball zoomed into the pathway. It looked like a big ball of clay. Everyone rose from their shock. I touched it. ATCHOO!!!! The street fell back down again. They started saying “We are dead! We are dead” in unison. I ignored them and walked to the shop.
Sasha's 100 Word Challenge
I was walking through the bone museum. I got to a big ball of bones. It had a description under It.The bones were from one million people through out the world. I heard it shaking. "AHHHH!" I screamed. The big ball of bones started walking up and down the glass box." Oh no!" It was coming alive. I ran to another part of the museum. " I forgot the map" I screamed. I ran back to the alive bones. I stood there! I turned around for a secend. It looked at the bones again. They were all spliting up. Suddenly they turned to real humans...
Greg's 100 Word Challenge
The worst way to die...
I stared into the glass cabinet. The strange ball seemed to stare back at me. On the side of the box was a competition: What's the ball? I decided to call it a scrunched up skeleton.
The following morning, there was a knock on the door. I had to open with my left hand because I couldn't bend my right. Although the knock was quiet, the man who answered it was excited. "You've won!"he yelled. "What!?" "The ball competition! You were right! It's a skeleton with a disease!" My heart skipped a beat. Yesterday, I noticed a crack and I stupidly touched the bone...

Rhiannon's 100 word challenge
… Oh Dear I Forgot It Was Leap Year …
100 Word Challenge
“Oh no” Ruby screamed. I have done something really stupid. I have done something incredibly stupid. I have celebrated Easter a day early, Christmas a day early and even my birthday. Until someone said to me, “you having a good day?” I thought to my self, wondering why he said that, because he never ever does. Then I realized, he was giving me a hint, thinking, are you going to propose to me? I whispered to myself. “Why?” I shouted out loud, “I am an idiot! I forgot it was leap year! I am an idiot! Once again!” Ha!
Sasha's 100 word challenge
'Oh dear! I forgot it was leap year!' Stomped my brother Max. 'I forgot it was leap year!' shouted Mum. I celebrated my birthday a day early. I am an idiot. My birthday is tomorrow. I had just finished opening the presents then looked on the calendar to write a date on it then in big bold letters LEAP YEAR! Oh no. My family were coming round in ten mins. It was the wrong day. It was the most dreadful birthday ever. I ran upstairs and sunk my head into the pillow. My mum knocked on the door. I let her in. She pulled the covers of me she said “oh darling you wet the bed.”
“NO mum it is wet from my floods of tears.”
Olivia's 100 Word Challenge
Oh Dear I Forgot It Was Leap Year
This year is a leap year but I forgot! And because it was a leap year I celebrated Christmas a day early.
It was December 24th, Chrismas eve or as I thought Christmas day. I had wondered why Santa had'nt brought me any presents, had I been naughty but I had been good all year.
I ran upstairs to my room and burst into tears on my bed. My mum walked in and asked me what was wrong. "Santa has'nt come this year," I sobbed.
"It's christmas eve though, Santa does'nt come till christmas day," she told me,"It's a leap year silly,"

Book reviews on Divine Freaks by Fiona Dunbar
Book review of Divine Freaks by Fiona Dunbar
Book style
The style of the book is definitely new to me, going by the styles of the other books that I have read. The first person language is slightly casual but that helps to add to the humour edge that well balances the fear and sympathy in the book. Although I have mentioned some of the themes in the book, it seems there is no particular one that runs through the book but it is good to let the feelings flow around you. Because of the connective in the book, it seems to edge you on, you can’t put it down!
Characters
Kitty Slade is the narrator in the story and Fiona Dunbar has portrayed her brave, caring, slightly mischievous nature so well, you fall in love with her throughout the book. (Not literally). She can see ghosts which obviously interrupts her life creating the perfect storyline. Before her phantorama her family life was well… Normal but I love the way the slightly arrogant, loyal, knowledgeable personality of her brother Sam, the cheeky, positive, and naive personality of her sister Flossie and the kind-hearted, persistent and humorous personality of her Grandmother Maro seem to captivate you wonderfully.
What could be improved?
I felt relief a little too much in the book despite the amount of disasters. The cover was too girly but the content isn’t at all.
by Greg
Divine Freaks is an amazing book about a young girl called Kitty Slade. She is a normal girl except she has one extraordinary ability, that no-one in the world has, she can see ghosts. The book is all about her daring adventure to find out who killed the mysterious previous chemistry teacher, Mr. Divine, after she gets kicked out of school.
Kitty Slade makes enemies throughout the book and gets suspicious of certain characters. When Kitty hates a character, so do you and you feel empathy for her when she’s sad or lonely.
The books themes were spot on! When it was supposed to be funny, it was, or when it was supposed to be surprising it was and so on. It triggered every emotion except for boredom!
Overall my favourite book I’ve read in Bookfest so far is this book. I couldn’t put it down.
By Francesca
What's the book about?
This book is about a girl called Kitty Slade who doesn’t ask to but starts seeing ghosts and her grandma said it called a phanterma.
Readability
I think Divine Freaks has got a great readability. If I could mark it one to five I would give it a four because the book has got a little bit of Greek in it I didn’t understand.
Themes
I think Divine Freaks is a thriller and it takes you off the edge of your seat. And it sometimes makes you laugh and sometimes it can be a bit scary.
Finally I would like to say that you should buy this book and all the series.

Book review on Shadow by Michael Morpurgo
What is it about?
It is all about a young boy
named Aman who had been treated (along with his mum) badly by the Afghan
police. A dog turns up at the mouth of his cave and becomes a good friend.
How does it make you feel?
It makes me feel a little
upset because you don’t know if Aman will make it or not and the atmosphere
sounds all crowded and trapped.
Who is your favourite
character?
My favourite character would
be Aman or Shadow. Aman is strong and smart and Shadow, the dog is a dog you
can trust.
Would you recommend this
book? Why?
Yes, I would, because it is
the sort of book my friends would like and I loved it.
I would like to ask Morpurgo
where he got his ideas for this book.
By Rhiannon
I thought that shadow was an amazing book because I like how
shadow leads aman and his mother to England . Shadow was a good book and
I personally think it should win Book fest. I like how Sergeant Broody had the
dog first and then uncle Mere, then grandpa. I would rate shadow 10/10 it was
sad when somebody died, but it was fantastic when shadow saved loads of lives
by finding the bombs.
